Here at Maol Fold, we wanted to come up with a unique way to share our Highland Cows with the public in a safe environment...

This was when we came up with Hairy Coo Encounters... a unique hands on, farmer led experience.

During your experience you will get to meet our Highland cows, learn more about the breed as well as our individual animals, give them a good brush and have plenty of photo opportunities....some of our animals enjoy a selfie.

During our calving season, you will also get the opportunity to see some new born fluffies in the fields. 

Our Hairy Coo Encounters is an outdoor tour so suitable footwear & clothing is advised. (sturdy boots/wellies & waterproof jacket)

Each Encounters last 1 hour and booking is essential.

We are very family orientated therefore children are allowed, they must be supervised at all times by parents/carers. (Some of the ground may be unsuitable for pushchairs)

We start with some haltered animals in our yard and progress into a couple of close by fields to view the older cows with their calves.

Due to being around livestock unfortunately we cannot allow dogs on our encounters.
